In a Christmas letter 1907, Prince Eugen writes: “The autumn has certainly been very dark but I have not suffered from it all that much because it is always so beautiful here. (…) Since my move here I enjoy new vistas. There is the mighty steam mill across the water with its numerous bright windows and an illuminated steamboat with a puff of smoke and flames reflected in its wake. I am currently working on the factories with their smoking chimneys seen in the snow. So I am definitely keeping busy.”
