    Axel Lindman was one of the pioneers in Swedish plein-air painting and travelled in the 1870s to France to paint landscapes. This painting depicts a desolate anchorage somewhere along Stadsgårdskajen and in the background Skeppsbron and Stockholm’s Old Town can be seen. Today this is more or less where the ferries to Finland berth.
