The stained glass shows Sergel’s bust of the two-year-old crown prince, Gustav Adolf. It represents the moment when the portrait, on a pedestal, was presented to Gustav III at Gripsholm Palace’s theatre on the occasion of the king’s birthday, 24 January 1781.This glass was damaged by a well-aimed blow at some point in time, possibly linked to the destruction of the portrait of the “former king” after a royal decree in 1813.
