In his art, Peter Linde’s focus has always been on the human body. He has remained faithful to the figurative tradition, even at times when it has been held in low esteem. An excellent example of Linde’s everyday realism is his portrait of Hans Blix. The sitter wears neither a tie nor a suit, accentuating the private image of a cultivated and amiable man. His soft woollen sweater is far removed from the cut and thrust of international politics in which he once worked.
