Hella Jongerius’s series Animal Bowls for the German porcelain producer Manufaktur Nymphenburg have a three-dimensional porcelain animal with hand-painted decor. Jungerius has chosen both the animals and the decor from Nymphenburg’s historical production. The result may not be the most practical bowl. However, the quality is in the decorative new thinking, the interpretation of a historical material with a humorous aspect.
