Nicodemus Tessin the Younger rapidly became interested in the Grand Trianon after hearing of the many new features that his friend Le Nôtre had introduced there. These comprised the many flowers that filled the large parterre behind the palace and the unconventional water labyrinth Bosquet des Sources, laid out like a cluster of irregular, meandering streams. Le Nôtre explained it all meticulously in an accompanying text.
