Princess Sofia Albertina was still a teenager when this portrait was painted. A hint of ermine edging is the only thing that alerts the viewer to the subject’s royal status. She holds a masquerade mask and is about to raise her other hand in greeting. Though this charming oil painting is unfinished, Pasch has already managed to make it look like a pastel, thus giving it a marked Rococo character.
