Carl Michael Bellman’s songs have had a huge influence on Swedish culture, from the 18th century up until today. Numerous artists have illustrated the poems and, in the 1850s, Wilhelm Wallander planned a printed edition of illustrated Bellman songs. The work never materialised, but Wallander’s Bellman illustrations remain. This scene tells of a concert held in a bar featuring well-known figures from Bellman’s repertoire; centre is Movitz (in black) and Ulla Winblad performing.
